Monday May 24
Wow. How time flies! Its been a while since anyone has posted anything here so i guess it may as well be me!
There are some new things on the horizon, a couple of new projects, some new songs being recorded and generally staying very busy!
Andrew and Justin have started a tuesday blues jam at the legendary J&M cafe in pioneer square, its a house band with a different special guest each week and boy do we have some heavy hitters lined up in the next few months! Check out the calender page to find your favorite then come on out and show the love! And bring your guitar, bass or drumsticks and get up onstage!
That brings me to my next point: Live music is back in pioneer square!!! The J&M has re-opened under new ownership and management and they really did a bang up job! It looks great, theres a new stage with lights, the food is awesome and most importantly, live music 6 nights a week! So pick a night to come on down and check it out and you wont be disappointed.
New band alert! The True Romans have been born! The True Romans is Justin, Andrew and Ronan with justin and ronan switching off on the bass and guitars and playing a blend of all your favorite songs every thursday nite at, where else, the J&M cafe! So dust off your party hat and make it on down sometime on a thursday to see some rolicking good music and we've even got our own theme song! Good times indeed!
We've also been busy writing and have started recording some new Buckets Of Rain songs, no release date yet, but the songs are sounding good in their fledgling forms and we hope to have something available by the end of summer at least...

So in closing, thanks for listening and be sure to check the calender for the latest gigs and also we are now on the facebook so if you are too thats a great way to stay connected and we'll see ya's out there in the trenches!

Be good!

Monday January 19
All good things...

Attn Jammers! New news in the jam department! The sunday jam at Hwy 99 club has been cancelled for now until further notice. Unfortunate tho it is, for some reason it was just getting tough to keep it going strong, and so we've decided to let it go for now. Stay tuned here for any updates on the situation as we love the Hwy 99 club and are working on getting something going again soon...
But for all you jammers out there, Justin is doing a great jam on tuesdays at the Blarney Stone in belltown (3rd & stewart), and all y'all are welcome to come join us! Still with Polly O'Keary on bass and Tommy Cook on drums, it's a fun line up and we've been getting some great players out there! And the staff are all very nice!
And Andrew runs a jam out in Fall City at the Ragin River on sun nites and you can always check the bluesletter for any other jams around town too!

In other news, we've begun rehearsing again, working on both some new covers and some new originals trying to get the 2nd Buckets of Rain album goin on so keep on comin out to the shows and maybe you'll hear something ya ain't heard before!

Thanks for listening folks and we'll see ya out there!

Wednesday September 10
Hey folks!
Its been a while since we've posted anything here and boy do we apologize for that! I guess we got busy playing shows and getting about our daily lives but thats no excuse!
So here's the latest news in the world Author Unknown and Buckets Of Rain...

For starters, as many of you may already know, the "blue monday jam" has moved to sunday afternoons now, from 2 to 5p, and there is a fantastic barbeque menu of amazing items to choose from! The food really is (as always) great, and the tunes are too and plus YOU get to play!
And secondly, and most pressing, thursday the 11th we will be back at Fado just like old times! This will be the first show, and starting in october we will be doing the third thursday of every month. So mark those calenders and get on out! Would be great to see our old Fadoian friends! Tomorrow we wont have our steady bassman Jon, as he is busy all month with work, but we'll have Justin on bass and the usual Scotty and Andrew and we'll have some help from Mr. Vote For Pedro himself, Nabil. (that would be justins brother). We will have a "we miss Jon" card there at the show for everyone to sign and tell him how much we appreciate his work on the low end!
And lastly, we got another Buckets of Rain show at the Skylark! It is on Saturday the 20th and B.O.R. goes on first at 9p then there are two other great bands playing after us so it should be a great nite all around! Cover is $5, and the food and drinks are good and strong!

So there ya have it!
More news to come soon, and as always keep checking the calender page for updates and we'll see ya out there in the rock and roll world! Thanks for reading!

Saturday April 26
Greetings from your friends at Author Unknown! You may have noticed that our Pictures page is not functioning quite right. Unfortunately it is suffering from a severe case of brokencodeitis for which there is no easy cure. However, fear not because our Myspace page has lots of photos, and other stuff too. Check it out - www.myspace.com/authorunknowntheband The calendar and the rest of this site is still up and running and we plan to keep it that way. Lots of cool stuff happening in May. Watch for a couple of Buckets of Rain shows at the end of the month. Take care, we hope to see you soon!

Wednesday March 26
It was sooooo nice to see everyone who came out the Celtic Swell to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us. They put up a tent out back in order to hold everybody. It was pretty cold at times, but once everybody crammed into the tent and started dancing things warmed right up! We’ve got lots of things coming up in April….including the first Buckets of Rain show in quite a while. It’s happening at the Crown Hill pub in Ballard on April 10 and we would love to see you there! April also finds us everywhere from Sequim, to Anacortes, to Bremerton, to Kirkland and Woodinville. Wherever you are, we are coming to somewhere near you!

Thursday February 7
Wondering what to do on a thursday? Well wonder no more! Mosey (or wander) on down to the Owl n Thistle pub this thursday the 7th to see yours truly! The boys of Author Unknown! And as if that wasnt enough, we talked them into letting us leave all our gear at the club so we could do it again on friday! I mean, it just doesn't get any better. And if things go well on thursday, theres a chance we could do more of them so come on out and show the love people!
We'll see ya out there!

Thursday December 6
Hello to all!
Great last minute news! We just had to take this opportunity to do a Buckets of Rain show thursday, dec 6th! At one of our favorite places, the Highway 99 Blues Club! Someone else couldn't make it so we decided to "throw something together" and came up with this! A chance for us to wipe the dust off some of the B.O.R. tunes we don't play that often and to focus on our own tunes and use this as a warm up for next year, when we'll be doing a lot more Buckets of Rain shows!
So if ya can make it, the cost is $5 bucks, and the mayhem starts at 8:30!
Tonite!

Wednesday October 3
Hello to all!
Got a few quick updates for y'all...
The first and most important is the benefit show this sunday for our good friend Mark Whitman. He had a reaction to some medication recently which put him in the hospital and has caused him to miss gigs. He is expected to make a full recovery and all of us that know him are keeping him in our thoughts. Mark has been and continues to be one of the best guitar players in the northwest and is in the WBS Hall of Fame among many other awards and is also a great guy. If you know Mark, or have ever heard any of his many bands over the years, you know how true this is!
SO.... there is a benefit show this sunday october 7th at the Highway 99 blues club starting at 6pm, with a $5 dollar suggested donation at the door. All proceeds will go to Mark Whitman and his family. There will also be various items to be raffled off.
There will be a fantastic house band consisting of Chris Leighton on drums, Lissa Ramaglia on bass, Scotty Harris on sax, and Rolf Larson on keys, as well as - and this is the fun part! - a slew of Marks friends and other musicians that will be taking turns on the stage making for a very impressive night of music! Confirmed guests so far include: Paul Green, our very own Scott Lind, Eric "tow scoops" Moore, Jeff Herzog, Kimball Conant, Roger Enders, Rod Cook, Doug McGrew, Tim Turner, Hank Yanda, Billy Shew, the list goes on and on!
So please if you love the blues and good music, come on down and show your support and have a great time! And please, spread the word about it, we want a lot of people there!

In other news, we've changed the name of tuesday nites band from Justin KH and good chemistry to "Good Chemistry" and want to invite all to come down and check it out! They are just starting to get some really good bands in there on saturdays as well, but we'd also love to see you tuesdays too! Same line-up, Justin, Polly and Tommy, just a fresh name.
And one last thing, I love my mondays at the 99 club! It's really great to play with the best local musicians in the house set and then hear all the great local and diverse talent during the jam sets too! And you never know just whose gonna stop by for a breif hello and a song!

So remeber to come out on sunday for the Mark Whitman benefit show, and we'll see you soon!

Justin and the boys from A.U. and B.O.R. !

Sunday August 26
Hi ya Kids!
Well it took a while, but we did it. Remember back in november of last year when Justin K-H and Good Chemistry rocked the 99 club every tues? Well now we're back! Only this time we'll be rockin the Blarney Stone every tuesday starting sept. 4!
The Blarney Stone is located at 3rd and Stewart in Belltown, and we are very pleased to be playing there with this line up. For those of you that might not remember, Justin K-H & Good Chemistry consists of Justin K-H (hey thats me!) and Polly O'Keary on bass and Tommy Cook on drums. We always have fun together and the tune selection will be awesome! Were even trying to teach Tommy how to sing! (he's been working on sort of an eastern australian yodeling technique, it's very strange, you'll have to ask him about it!) So come on down and check it out!
Also, the monday jam has been going very well lately, our special guests have been really hot and they always bring a little extra mustard to the show, making it fun to watch and fun to jam! We will be skipping the jam on monday sept. 3rd for labor day but then we'll pick it back up again on the 10th with guest Sue Orfield on horn and a few other guests to make it another great night of music.
That should about do it for now, so as always, keep it real, and it you can't keep it real then at least keep it on the level and keep it here for the latest news on the A.U. / B.O.R. front.
Peace.

Thursday August 9
Hey everybody! Check out the photos from the Dupont Blues Festival on the pics page. Thanks to our friend Paul Reinstein for his great photos. If you see them at a show, please buy them a drink....and then buy a shirt! Thats all for now. We're at Fado tonight and Wilde Rover on Friday. Now...."Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved"....and get out there!

Sunday July 22
Hello Friends! It’s been a while so we thought we would bring you up to date on what is going on in the Author Unknown world. We are very proud to have been included in the DuPont Blues Festival coming up Saturday July 28th. Our set will go from 4:30 – 5:30, and then you can hang out and see 2 other great bands, the Tommy Wall Band and Polly O’Keary and the Rhythm Method. If DuPont is a little too far south for you, you are in luck because that night Author Unknown will be coming to the Dubliner in Freemont. This will be our first time there and it would be great to pack the place. For the rest of the summer, Thursdays at Fado will go from 9:30 – 12:30. And Blue Monday at the Highway 99 club is still going strong as one of the hottest jams in town. We had the pleasure of backing up Roger “Hurricane” Wilson from Atlanta Georgia last week. Next weeks guest artist is Jeremy Kidder from Jam on White Bread and the Lee Oskar Band. You might also recognize Jeremy as an occasional Author Unknown guest. Come out and Jam with us, or if you don’t play just come out and listen. It should be a great night! Also remember that you can get the Buckets of Rain CD at any show for just 10 bucks. What a deal! We have lots of stuff booked for the summer so keep checking the calendar, and come out and say hello! It would be great to see you.

Tuesday May 1
Well it seems that congratulations are in order! Our very own Scotty Lind took the 1st place prize in the division finals of Guitar Center’s “King of the blues” guitar competition. He will be representing our area on May 9 in Hollywood at the Western Regional Finals. We always knew that we had a champion in our midst, but it is pretty cool that other people are recognizing it too. So next time you see Scotty be sure to shake his hand. Heck, you might even get a pick out of the deal. On another note we need some people to write a review of our CD on our CD baby site. So…if you ever wanted to feel like a writer for Rolling Stone (and you have a copy of our CD) go to http://cdbaby.com/cd/bucketsofrain scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “write a review”. If you don’t have a CD yet this is also a great place to buy one! Then come back and write a review. That’s all for now, until we see you again…
Be excellent to each other.

Friday March 23
Holy cow! St. Patricks day at the Wilde Rover was insane! What a great place to celebrate St. Patricks day. The band was in fine form, and really feeding off of the energy from the packed house. It was amazing to see the whole room full all the way to the back with people dancing, sweating and just generally having a great time. It was also great to see Husky and Seahawk legend Warren Moon in the audience. If you missed this one, we are back at the Wilde Rover on Saturday April 21. This weekend finds in Sequim at the 7 Cedars Casino both Friday and Saturday. Justin’s Blue Monday jam at the Hwy 99 Club is really picking up steam. It is turning into a jam night that is just as much fun to watch as it is to jam at. Maybe you should come down and do both!

Thursday March 15
Tonights Buckets of Rain show at Fado has been CANCELLED.
sorry

Friday February 9
Hello friends! The Buckets of Rain CD is now available online at CD Baby.com. Just go to http://cdbaby.com/cd/bucketsofrain and you can listen to clips of all of the tracks, buy all you want and even write a review of your own. Tell all your friends about it! Let’s say you are in England and all of your friends want a CD, but they can’t make it to Seattle for a show. Well now there is a way! We will be eventually getting links on here and on the My Space pages that will get you directly there. Speaking of My Space, check out http://www.myspace.com/authorunknowntheband there are a couple of live tunes up there, with more to follow as we get good enough recordings of live shows. If original music is more your thing then http://www.myspace.com/bucketsofrainband is the link for you! Be our friends! We will accept you just the way you are! It’s a great way to find out what is happening, and when those rare Buckets of Rain shows are coming. They are coming, we promise!
Take Care,
AU

Friday January 5
So hey there! A few updates for the calender and some noteworthy events to report.
For starters, as fun as it was (and it was fun!) the tuesday nite gig at the hwy 99 club with justin k-h and good chemistry is no more. It has been replaced by Justin (me) taking over the Blue Monday Jam at the Hwy 99 club instead and well be mixing up the format a bit. Sign up will be at 8 o'clock and then the house band (myself, andrew cloutier on drums and eric bryson on bass) will play the first set with a different featured guest each week. Then well do the jam sets and then the house band will close out the nite once more with vigor! Check the calender for the featured guests and then take note and come on down for these people are all very talented and will be worth the free price of admission and then some! I personally am very excited about this one and its a good long running jam so if you wanna play its a great opportunity to do so!
We'll still be doing our sunday jam at big daddy's so dont miss out on that one either, heck, if you really wanna play you could do it both nights!
Were also trying to get some more Justin K-H and Good Chemistry gigs too so keep us on your radar for that too!
Anyways, hope that everyone had a good safe new years and that you are all having a great 2007 so far!
Until next time............................................................................... !

Tuesday January 2
Well Hello Everyone!
Just a quick note to let y'all know that we really, really, REALLY appreciated the support for our cd release party and it was by all counts a raging success! We had over 150 people in attendance to witness the rock, and we sold 36 cd's at the event and have since sold almost one hundred! So we feel pretty darn good about that! And you all should feel good too, knowing that you were at the first Buckets Of Rain show in history!
SO please check up on us at our myspace page, cuz we need all of you as our friends, (www.myspace.com/bucketsofrainband ) and we'll keep you posted on the rest of the activities as we build our empire! Thanks again!!!!!!!!! We love ya's!
